I'm about to give you the key to living a rewarding, rich life. I know that sounds like a lot, but I can prove it. Grab a cup of coffee and let's dig in.

Part 1 - At a Crossroads

A lot of people, in fact, I would say the majority of people, feel like they're at a crossroads in life right now.

When you're at a crossroads, it's extremely hard to see things objectively. In fact, it may be impossible. I highlighted this passage from Ryan Holiday's book a couple of years ago about objectivity.

"Objectivity means removing “you”—the subjective part—from the equation."

Ryan Holiday, The Obstacle Is the Way

Objectivity is crucial to sound decision making and it's very hard to practice it on your own stuff.

Maybe you're the founder who looks great on the outside but, on the inside, isn't so good.

Possibly you've been drinking or using drugs for a while, and you know it isn't serving you, but walking into rehab or an AA meeting also doesn't fit into your life today.

Let's not forget how AI is changing everything in the world, and how you might not be sure what that means for you or your family.

Hey, it's not all doom and gloom. Maybe everything's going great and that scares the living hell out of you. Who do you become if what you've been working on actually works?

My take is you don't need more advice from random strangers on the internet, and talking to AI about it definitely isn't the solution. I'd suggest that having somebody in your corner who's been there is the strongest move.

What happens if nothing changes?

Do you keep having the same day, same week, and same year over and over again? Maybe you grind through it because it's a season, and maybe you find yourself missing important events in life, whether that's your kid's volleyball game or helping your aging parent.

Let's say that keeps happening. Your kids get used to you not being there. Your aging parent passes, and you start believing you're who you are, and that's it. There's no change, but I'm here to tell you it doesn't have to be.

You can change who you are and how you respond to what is happening in this world right now.

Part 2 - The 4 Tools

Next, a couple of tools that have helped me live a life that is manageable and, I might even say, rich (not rich in the type of way that you and I think about with money, but rich from a rocking perspective, like just living life perspective). I'll go into the tools.

I'm gonna give it all away. Hey, this is some of the stuff I've been able to do in life using these tools, and it's selfish not to put them out into the world. This is part of what I need to do because we live in a weird world.

I offer proven frameworks to help you understand yourself and how you move through the world.

Control what is actually controllable

Three circles. Stuff you control: mood, mindset, exercise, sleep, effort, thoughts, food, where you live. Stuff you influence: family, voting, community, friends, wealth, health. Stuff you can't control: AI, the economy, weather, wars, pandemics, asteroids, geopolitics, time passing, aliens, how others live.

One of them is to control what is actually controllable. These are your words, your mood, how you talk to yourself, how you treat yourself, what you eat, etc. Those are yours to own.

Obviously the next thing is your family, your community, etc. These are things that you can influence.

Then there are things we can't do a darn thing about, like AI, the economy, politics, and the weather.

I'm going to help you allocate your energy and your give-a-damn to the things that you can impact where it counts.

Name it, tame it

Also name it, tame it. This is one of my favorites.

You can't just fix arbitrary things. You have to give them a name. You have to identify them, and once you do, we can start doing something with them.

I'll help you get there and get specific. Label your problems, and then we can start doing something with them.

Telling yourself a better story

The cycle: beliefs drive behaviors, behaviors drive results, and results reinforce beliefs, with a brain at the center.

Telling yourself a better story. This is a big one.

Your beliefs drive your behaviors, which then drive your results, which then reinforce your beliefs. We're going to help you create a positive loop in the areas that matter.

Doing consistent things awesomely

The Consistent Results Engine: Beliefs (in possibility, in process, in self), Plans (milestones, authority, outcomes), and Accountability (to self, to others, to results).

All of this lays into doing consistent things awesomely and you need three things for that:

  • Belief, which we've talked about.
  • Proven plans and frameworks, which I've talked about a little bit here.
  • Accountability and objectivity: an outside point of view from someone who isn't too close to your stuff, isn't biased, and really wants you to get what you want in this life.

Part 3 - Who I Am

I've been exactly where you are

See I've been exactly where you are. In fact I've been writing this letter kind of to myself.

I'm KO and I know what it feels like to be at a crossroads. I feel like your life, the one life we have, is on the line with your decisions and that's scary.

I've been broken. I've won. I've taken a lot of shots and I'm here to tell you that you can do the work and put yourself back together. Doing it by yourself is extremely hard, and it takes daily work.

Here's what my work has helped me with and I share these items with you to show you what is possible:

  • I've been sober from alcohol and really hard drugs since 2004.
  • Finished a half Ironman when I didn't know how to swim and earned a black belt.
  • I started as a white belt next to my son and I still train daily.

Those are just a sliver of some things that I'm really proud of but they all share the same three things. That's why I'm so convicted about how I can help you: if you don't have belief, a plan, and someone keeping you accountable, chances are things won't be sustainable long term.

That's what I do right now: I offer those three things. I offer belief in you, proven plans, and the accountability and objectivity you can't get from yourself or people with a vested interest in your success.

I'm the filament

I'm the filament and light bulb. That's what I am to you.

The filament isn't actually the light. It's the thing that makes the light possible and you, my friend, you're the light. I'm just the wire. I'm the conductive material and when we work together it's going to be you that shines.

Unconditional tough love

My style has been called unconditional tough love. I'm a pretty direct person and I say things out loud because they need to be said.

If you do the work you're going to find out that just trusting your intuition and some of the things that maybe I work with you on allow you to have a tougher exterior as well. You're also going to feel the love: the love for life, the love for the things that you're passionate about, and maybe love for yourself.

Part 4 - Working Together

How I typically work with people

Here's how I typically work with people:

  1. To have a conversation one-on-one. There's no cost, and it helps us get to know each other a little better.
  2. We identify the one thing that, if we improve it, would make everything else better. Most people do this over a 12-session sprint where we'll name the one thing holding you back, build habits around it, and then I will help you stay accountable.
  3. Go live your life with your new clarity and habits that hopefully will stick with you for life and, more importantly, the confidence and belief in yourself to keep going. I'll get the heck out of your way and be here if you need me.

This is a gift to the world

If you're the type of person like me who benefits from accountability, I offer that as a service. It's a way for me to serve others, and it creates a sense of community, but you'll be there for others, right? This is a gift to the world, and if you need help, I can help you with that.

Pick what fits best for you

Pick what fits best for you, and if you need help deciding, that's what our initial calls are for.

My most popular offer

The 4-month reset

My most popular offer is the 4-month reset. Some call it intervention and we'll meet 3 times a month for 4 months. We will identify the biggest issue you feel is holding you back, or maybe a couple of things. We're going to help you work through it and build the habits and then keep you accountable.

$1500/mo

Monthly accountability

I also offer a monthly accountability service. After you finish your sessions if you want to stay on track, we can keep meeting monthly.

$500/mo

Hourly

I also have some hourly opportunities where maybe you've got a big decision. You don't want to get super deep but you want to talk to somebody. I offer that as well.

$500/session

For business leaders, retirees, moms, dads, humans who need belief, plans, and accountability, plus that outsider's honest perspective, the objectivity that you are unable to get from yourself.

You don't have to be a stuck human being to work with me but you do have to be the type of person who wants your next chapter to be just more positive and better than the current one. That's all that's required.

Your Next Chapter

Picture this

Picture this: here's where we're going to go.

  • Every day, you make the calls you need to make with more confidence.
  • The decisions.
  • Maybe the next one is that you're at your kid's game, your business is running smoothly, and you don't feel the need to check Slack all the time. Whatever.
  • Or when you don't feel like doing the day the way it's been prescribed, you're in a position to let yourself take care of yourself and put yourself first. Maybe you've got some really good habits that help you persevere on challenging days.
  • Most importantly trust yourself again and maybe even love yourself if you don't right now.

None of this is actually perfect and that's cool. It's progress and it's positive progress. When we make positive progress, we can use it and snowball it into something meaningful and deliver it.

If you're not ready to talk yet, I get it. I don't really like talking to people unless I need to. Maybe that's part of the problem, right? Here are the 4 tools that I use to make better decisions. It's a guide that I put together with some of the things we've talked about up above.

Your next chapter starts with just one meeting, you and me. Let's make it happen.

Talk soon.
